it’s noisy where we live + argentinian mosquitos get immune to repellents rather quickly = i had problems with sleeping. after a month of nights sliced by shorter or longer awakenings, i started using sleepcycle. it works but only when i give myself about 7h of sleep, otherwise i choose to ignore it. as always, when i experience tiredness or a kind of something’s-wrong-situation, i changed a number of things: gave up coffee, joined the gym, bought iron tablets and so can’t truly say which o n e of them works but in the end, does it matter? no.

ps
remember Marta with whom we did shiftspace? at last she’s blogging again. here.

weeks back, on our way from barrio chino (chinese district), we saw this open-air milonga. it was such a joy to watch people dance. i’m not into tango but Karol says we definitely need to try some lessons so maybe i’ll give in and let my legs become tangled up soon.

i have a problem with must-sees. more often than not, they’re flooded with tourists and lose their meaning in camera lights. el ateneo is a bookstore. pushed into a former theatre, yet still a bookstore. but hardly anybody buys anything here. hardly anybody reads. you go in, have something to drink/eat, snap a few photos and leave. for me, el ateneo is an idea, a grand sight but lacks atmosphere.

so many write about this place using superlatives. and it is the best pizza we’ve had here. we found it hard to decide which one to get, the choice is huge. anyway, made by italians, appreciated by argentinians. thank goodness for immigration, right?
